Assembly enables you to embed Trello boards directly in your client experience for seamless project collaboration.

App setup

  1. In the Dashboard sidebar, click + Add App, then under More ways to add select Embed existing content.
  2. Choose Trello from Popular embeds — or click Add embed to start from a URL.
  3. Click + Embed app. You’ll land on the app’s setup page.
  4. Configure the app name, icon, and visibility settings.
  5. Set as automatic for all clients or manual for specific clients.
  6. Keep the setting as Show as embed to keep users in the portal.
  7. Open your Trello board and ensure it’s set to public.
  8. Click the ellipsis (…) right of the Share button.
  9. Select Print, export, and share.
  10. Copy the link under Link to this board.
  11. Return to the App Setup page and paste the link in the content box.
  12. Append .html to your board link (e.g., https://trello.com/b/GJKr8RIP.html).
Appending .html to your board link is required for the embed to work correctly.
  1. Click Add to complete setup.
To preview as a client, access Portal in the sidebar and select Open portal. You can then view the connected app while logged in as your test client.
