Google Drive enables file storage and sharing capabilities. You can embed any file from Google Drive by following the setup instructions below. To embed folders from Google Drive, additional configuration is needed, which is detailed later in this guide.

App setup

  1. In the Dashboard sidebar, click + Add App, then under More ways to add select Embed existing content.
  2. Choose Google Drive from Popular embeds — or click Add embed to start from a URL.
  3. Click + Embed app. You’ll land on the app’s setup page.
  4. Assign a name and icon to the app, then configure visibility settings for clients.
  5. For visibility to all clients, configure as an automatic App. For specific clients only, set as a manual App.
  6. Ensure the app is set to Show as embed so clients remain within the portal.
  7. Open your desired file in Google Drive.
  8. Click the three vertical dots menu (top-right) and select Share. Verify sharing permissions are set to “Anyone with the link can view.”
  9. Access the same menu and select Open in new window.
  10. In the new window, click the top-right menu and select Embed item….
  11. Copy the iframe code provided.
  12. Return to the App setup page and paste the iframe code into the content box.
  13. Click Add to complete setup and view the configured app.
