Assembly makes it simple to embed a YouTube video directly into your portal. Many businesses using Assembly will embed YouTube videos that help with greeting and onboarding clients, explaining services, and more.

App setup

  1. In the Dashboard sidebar, click + Add App, then under More ways to add select Embed existing content.
  2. Choose YouTube from Popular embeds — or click Add embed to start from a URL.
  3. Click + Embed app. You’ll land on the app’s setup page.
  4. Give the app a name and icon, and configure if all clients can see it, or only a subset.
  5. We recommend setting this up as an automatic app so that all clients can see the embedded video. If you only want this app to be visible to one or more specific clients, set this as a manual app.
  6. Leave the app set to Show as embed so that the client isn’t directed outside of the portal.
  7. Now, find the YouTube video you want to embed, click Share underneath the video, go to Embed, and click Copy.
  8. Go back to the App Setup page and paste the copied link into the content box.
  9. Click Add to be redirected to the app.
To preview the app as a client, click Portal at the bottom of the sidebar and click Open portal. Once you’re logged in as your test client you’ll be able to view the connected app.
