Assembly enables direct embedding of Typeform within your portal. Typeform offers form design capabilities through a drag-and-drop interface for creating customized forms.

App setup

  1. In the Dashboard sidebar, click + Add App, then under More ways to add select Embed existing content.
  2. Choose Typeform from Popular embeds — or click Add embed to start from a URL.
  3. Click + Embed app. You’ll land on the app’s setup page.
  4. Assign the app a name and icon, then configure visibility settings for all clients or a specific subset.
  5. The documentation recommends setting this as an automatic App for visibility to all clients. For limited visibility, configure as a manual App.
  6. Set the app to Show as embed to keep clients within the portal.
  7. Access your Typeform home page. For the desired form, click the drop-down menu and select Share.
  8. On the new page, click the Copy Link button.
  9. Return to the App Setup page and paste the copied link into the content box.
  10. Click Add to proceed to the app.

Typeforms with hidden fields

When using a Typeform containing hidden fields, embed the share link within an iframe to ensure proper functionality with hidden fields. Use this template, replacing “share-link” with your actual link: <iframe src="share-link"></iframe>

URL parameters

You can pre-populate Typeform questions using client, company, or custom field data through URL parameters.
You can’t pre-populate the text of Typeform answers, not even with URL parameters, per Typeform’s design philosophy prioritizing natural respondent experience.
Configure URL parameters in Typeform’s settings, then enter them in the corresponding inputs during app setup, selecting related properties from the dropdown menu.
